Minmetals Australia is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Minmetals Corporation (CMC) and is based in Melbourne, Australia.

CMC itself is China’s largest international metals and minerals corporate group and is also the largest in metallurgical construction and operation services globally-it is headquartered in Beijing and it now operates in more than 60 countries.

CMC was ranked 58th in the Fortune 500 Global Companies listing and No.1 in the metals and minerals field in 2022.

Minmetals Australia was established in 1988 in order to promote new business and the supply of quality steel products sourced mainly in China to the local Australian and New Zealand marketplace. It is heavily involved in procuring commodities/raw materials from Australian mines and arranging sales to customers in China.

Currently Minmetals Australia transacts business in steel pipe, bar and castings, flat products, grinding media, iron ore and other minerals such as chrome ore and coal etc.

The company has forged strong ties with many of its customers and logistics providers in Australia over the past thirty years always with an eye to further developing quality long term business relationships.
